Update * I've had these boots over a month now and been out on trail rides a number of times since. My favorite riding/walking boots now and my orthodics fit fine in them.*All the positive reviews were right! I haven't taken these boots out on a trail ride yet (I'll go out later this week) but I am super impressed right out of the box. I have wide feet and recovering from a plantar fasciitis flareup. I ordered my regular size 8; removed the insole so my orthodics fit and I still have plenty of room for my feet to be comfortable. Padded heel is a little stiff at first but I'm solving that by not lacing up to the last set of hooks and wearing around the house and on short trips. I think they'll be broken-in in no time.Love these boots! I can wear them all day and still be comfy at night. They seem to have a bit wider width than a lot of boots, and my feet sure appreciate it.Having been in a massive car wreck when I was 29 yrs old, my accident injuries have left me unable to wear western boots ever since due to hip pain. Decided to try these boots on a whim, and they have changed my life. Literally. The most comfortable shoe I have worn since my wreck in 2002. Puts my back/hip in the perfect alignment to walk further without pain than I have been able to without them. AMAZING. Buy them!!!!!I bought my first pair of these Roper Horseshoes in 2003 because I was riding horses. I loved them and they were so comfortable that I began using them for yard work, too. They have a nice arch support, roomy toe box and rubber heel and sole that are firm but cushy. They are good work boots with a tennis shoe sole. I only wear them on weekends, but they are so sturdy they lasted me 16 years and I'm on my second pair now.Item appeared used. Scuffed on toes, heel sides, and body sides. Not horrible scuffs, would've kept, but sizing was also off. Toe box was larger than average, and heels as well. Sent back.Luv these shoes..makes riding a horse perfect..I am pleased with the Kiltie Western boot. I needed a strong durable boot for trail riding and hiking. I purchased first the Ropers Horseshoe “hiking shoe”. See attached pictures to show seams splitting. These took some time to adjust to my feet before they felt comfortable and did not last very long. I wanted to replace the “hiking shoe” boots and found the same Horseshoe brand but named “Kiltie Western boot”. I chose the kiltie boot because it doesn’t have a seam over side of toe area and am hoping they will last longer. The bottom treads appear to be identical, minus the dirt. The Kiltie boots seemed a little bigger but fits nice with a thick sock. Walking & riding in the Kiltie boots has been comfortable from the start. I am pleased with these boots and hope they weather better than the other style of the hiking boot.I had a pair of these years ago. Loved them and wore them pretty much constantly. Eventually they needed to be replaced and unfortunately, I was unable to find them anywhere. Two different large Western/boot retailers told they never existed, and oddly enough insisted on this even when I took my old boots in to show them. Lace ups made by other brands do not fit my foot as well as these do, so I was ecstatic to find them on Amazon.I have been wearing them 2x/week for about a month now. They fit me true to size. They have decent arch support, the toe box is reinforced which is nice, but makes the shoe feel somewhat stiff. The ankle area has far more padding than I remember the old pair having. This is not a big deal, but it does restrict ankle movement a little, noticed mostly when driving, have not noticed much when walking or riding. The padding definitely makes the boots feel warmer, good for winter, bad for those summer days with 100+ temps. Over all, the boot feels much stiffer with thicker leather and more padding than my old pair, but I expect they will soften up with time. I’m pleased with this purchase and would recommend.Best boots ever! Warm, great fit! Bought my first pair at a clearance store in Odessa Tx... been buying them ever since! Love themthey are great as expected..my second or third pair... great valu\Super comfortable! It's like I'm walking on clouds!Gorgeous boots! So comfortable and durable. Fit perfectly and good quality.Je suis tres satisfait et ils font tres bien une vrai pantoufle
